Australia Family Visa –Partner Visa


Individuals staying in Australia can now bring their partners on Australian Family Visa, to qualify for the partner category visa an applicant needs to meet the following requirements

Eligibility requirements:  


  • Spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen and also applicable for Skilled immigrant visa holders of subclass 189,489 and others.

  • Fiance or de facto partner of Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen and also applicable for Skilled immigrant visa holders of subclass 189,489 and others.

  • Sponsor of the partner should be lawfully staying in Australia with good character requirements

  • Proper evidence & history of the relationship is to be submitted

  • Meet health and character requirements

  • Identity documents of partner and sponsor

  • Statutory declarations from eligible Australian Citizens

  • Financial and accommodation details of the sponsoring partner

  • Children documents would be additional ( DNA test may be applicable)


Initially a qualified Partner would be issued a Temporary Provisional Visa –subclass 309 which would allow him/her to travel to Australia till a permanent visa –sub class 100 is issued or decision is made by the Australian immigration department.
