Denmark Dependent Visa

The Denmark dependent visa facilitates the travel of Primary applicant’s spouse and children to Denmark, it’s an eligible sponsorship either primary applicant being Denmark citizen or a person who holds resident permit on the grounds of family reunification. Please be noted that both primary applicant and spouse/cohabiting partner should be under agreed term ‘Marriage’ must be valid under Danish law.

 There are several other eligibility requirements which need to be met by both primary applicant and spouse, before applying for Denmark dependent visa.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Primary applicant in Denmark must hold a residence permit granted.

  • Both primary applicant and spouse must both be at least more than 24 years.

  • You both must sign a declaration that will both contribute actively along with accompanying children in learning Danish to the best of his/her ability.

  • Spouse must pass Danish as a second language test within six months of being granted residence.

  • Primary Applicant in Denmark must be able to support (financial support) his spouse along with children to avoid receiving public assistance

  • Primary applicant must have an independent reasonably sized residence at his/her disposal.

  • Primary applicant must earn DKK 54,289.48 (2017 level) 

  • Applicant is required to have all relevant documents pertaining to his/her spouse and children

  • The visa issued is a permanent residency visa which has validity not extending beyond the expiry of sponsored person

  • Visa holder can live and travel in Denmark, however the visa holder can study and also work with this valid visa.

  • Dependent children can pursue education

  • Spouse and dependent children can apply for citizenship

  • Processing time varies from application to application standard application approval time is 10 months.
